The bulk of my spare time is still being spent working on the web project for our local dive shop that I mentioned a couple of weeks ago but I wanted to take a minute to let you all know that the 16th-17th Century Hosen and Stockings article and the 14th Century Cloth Hosen article that I wrote for Your Wardrobe Unlock’d are now available at History Unstitched, the newest sister site of Your Wardrobe Unlock’d and Foundations Revealed focusing on clothing from antiquity to 1699.

I had a wonderful day at Atlantian Fall Crown this past Saturday.  I was very honored to be fought for by my husband, Master Gaston Valmont.  Our friends Efenwalt and Talento heralded for us.  It’s been posted on Facebook but below is footage of our procession.  Enjoy!

Gaston looked great in his surcoat and I told him if we decide to do it again I will make us matching banners since, after all these years, we still don’t have any. :)

Happy New Year, everyone!  Here’s to a happy, healthy, inspirational 2012!

I was very upset to hear about the destruction of so many beautiful costumes the other day.  So much sorrow has been caused recently by natural disasters that we have no control over.  The willful destruction of beauty by an arsonist on top of that was very upsetting.  My thoughts go out to My Digby.

Do you love reading about ambitious, insane costuming projects?  Do you love donating to a good cause?  Well Cathy Hay of Your Wardrobe Unlock’d and Foundations Revealed is combining both in a effort to raise money for the continued relief effort for Haiti!  Please check out her blog to learn more support this amazing project and wonderful cause.

I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.  Thank you all for your kind thoughts, comments, and support all year long.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy Thanksgiving.

We have just returned from our vacation but I wanted to share with you all that the article I was working on last month for Foundations Revealed has been published a month early!  Please feel free to visit their site to see my new tutorial on 16th and early 17th Century cloth stockings!

We are celebrating the holiday with family but I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very Happy Easter.  I’ve been working on my articles for Your Wardrobe Unlock’d: the Costume Maker’s Companion most of the weekend but I’ve also been brainstorming some new articles and series for the blog that I plan to start next week.

I have a Silver post pending for today but I wanted to take a moment to boost the signal for a very good cause.  Today Reconstructing History announced that they will be donating 10% of all January sales (phone, internet, and in person) to the Red Cross for Haitian Earthquake relief.  More information can be found over at their facebook page and in the special announcements section of their homepage.
