Blue Wool Gothic Fitted Gown (November 2006)

I made this Gothic Fitted for a Pas d’ armes that the Canton of Elvegast hosted in November 2006. The gown is made of fulled blue wool. It is fully flat lined with a wine colored linen and all the seams have been flat felled by hand. To provide extra support through the torso it has been interlined with an additional layer of heavy weight linen. It is laced closed in the front and the eyelets in the front closure are also hand sewn.

While it’s not my regular time period I have to say that I LOVE this dress. It’s easy to wear, comfortable, and super flattering. I’ve worn it through a number of different temperatures and weather conditions (including the very wet Pennsic 2006) and never felt overly hot even though it’s fulled wool.
